Introduction to intangible cultural heritage in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific

The focus of this special issue of Historic Environment is to investigate current heritage practices in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific by exploring how aspects of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) can be involved in understanding the significance of place. It highlights recent paradigm shifts in heritage discourse and practice that are influencing the way that heritage is being acknowledged in the region.
