Using a combination of on-line surveys, interviews and small group discussions, Context investigated the importance of Weston Park to people who live nearby, those who care for the park and nursery, and those who are defenders of heritage values in Canberra. The setting for this work was complex, with a recent master planning process resulting in community anger and political discomfort. The need to tread softly, and yet engage widely has been appreciated by all parties. The results – a social significance assessment – were used to inform the management plan prepared by lead consultants GML Heritage. [Source: Context Pty Ltd]
