Siding Spring Observatory is located in northern NSW. It is Australia’s premier optical and infrared observatory. The Heritage Management Plan prepared in 2015 was the first comprehensive and integrated assessment of the built, natural and Indigenous heritage values of the Siding Spring Observatory (SSO) against the Commonwealth Heritage List (CHL) criteria. The project included a thorough investigation and analysis of communities and social values.
