This Australia-wide project created practical guidance for communities and local governments to assist them in recognising and protecting cultural and natural heritage places. A key principle in heritage management and conservation is the need to understand the heritage importance or significance of a place before making decisions, and this same principle underpinned the extensive engagement that took place nationally throughout this project. The successful consultation with both communities and stakeholders resulted in an award winning publication. Context with du Cros & Assoc and Ecology Australia. [Source: Context Pty Ltd]
