Context Pty was appointed to assess the social value of the Parliament House Vista, a place on the Commonwealth Heritage List, as part of a conservation management plan being prepared for the National Capital Authority. Context’s work focussed on the community social and aesthetic values of what is, arguably, one of Canberra’s most recognised places. Methods included an on-line web survey, focus groups and face to face interviews with people who have a special interest or connections with the Parliament House Vista. Data was analysed and a statement of social significance and policies written.
