Scar remaining after bark removal to create a cultural object, Boort [C. Johnston]

Lake Boort is part of a chain of wetlands that extend north from Boort, in north western Victoria.

It offers a window into a rich and diverse cultural landscape – into Aboriginal culture and traditions, and the history of colonial settlement. Moreover, it is a special place for Dja Dja Wurrung and for the local Boort community.

Context worked closely with Parks Victoria in preparing the draft Plan: preparing discussion papers, undertaking field work, consulting with Dja Dja Wurrung, agencies, the Shire and local community, and drafting the Plan document. [Source: Context]

The final Plan was developed by Parks Victoria based on community review of the draft Plan, guided jointly by Chris Johnston and Parks Victoria.
