To bring community values and aspirations into a plan for the La Perouse Headland, part of the northern section of the Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Context undertook a social values assessment. Following some initial work, Context was engaged again to hold workshops with the Aboriginal and French communities and interviews with key recreational user groups to better understand their associations with the headland. The workshops explored and documented the range of associations and attachments with the La Perouse Headland. A whole community workshop was also held to develop a shared vision and identify desired policy directions in park management. The outcomes of Context’s work informed the draft CMP released for public comment in late 2008.
