What is intangible cultural heritage, and how might it be protected? This was the question asked by the Heritage Council of Victoria. To assist the Council, Context prepared a scoping paper, explaining the concept, its origins and how it relates to place-based heritage. The paper draws conclusions and makes recommendations for some initiatives that could be undertaken by the Council. The scoping paper is currently a confidential document, pending HCV consideration and decision on its future directions.
