Development of a training program on heritage conservation for local government authorities. The project involved assessment of training needs across a range of sectors, detailed design of a training program for local government and presentation of a pilot course. A handbook and reading to accompany the course were developed and tested.
The short course program went on to be presented through the Australian Heritage Commission as ‘Heritage Conservation at the Local Level: Short Course program’ (1990-91), and later through the NSW Heritage Office (1996-2000). Context also ran these courses in Victoria for local government, and developed one-off versions for particular local government authorities (1991-95) .
