Duncan Marshall et al 2007. Heritage Assessment of the Canberra Central Parklands. Report prepared for the National Capital Authority.
Context was employed by the National Capital Authority to assess the social and aesthetic values of Canberra’s Central Parklands and to write a statement of social significance. The project involved a desk top analysis of existing conservation management plans and surveys relating to the study area. A survey was undertaken of communities and cultural groups associated with the study area to determine why the parklands are important and what is it that makes them special. People were also asked to identify their favourite places and features within the parklands. The study is part of a heritage management plan that will guide future management of the area.
